Individual Therapy

Individual therapy sessions last 50 minutes. Sessions may be scheduled once, twice, or three times a week depending on the need of the individual. This will be decided together with the client!
Group Therapy
Group therapy for addictions or mental health concerns generally meet one time a week for approximately 90 minutes, during which clients will discuss and process a large range of issues, such as emotional stressors, family of origin issues, co-occurring issues, goal setting, building a support network, symptom management, etc
Family Therapy
Because addiction and mental health struggles affect the entire family system, family therapy is often a crucial element in the recovery of addiction and addictive behaviors. I worked with family therapist and family supports throughout the New York City area, as well as across the county and happily provide referrals and recommendations as needed
Clinical Recovery Coaching
Beyond individual, group & family therapy, I also have experience as an addictions and mental health recovery coach. I have recently enrolled in the World Coaching Institute’s program to complete a certificate in Youth, Parent and Family Certified Coach. I am also Co-Founder of New York Clinical Recovery Specialists, which provides individualized addiction & eating disorder support for teens and young adults.
Psychotherapy Practice
How does psychotherapy work anyhow?
I think both of these definitions found online help provide a summary of what psychotherapy is and how it can be a helpful activity in self-reflection and exploration:

“Psychotherapy is a general term referring to therapeutic interaction or treatment contracted between a trained professional and a client, patient, family, couple, or group. The problems addressed are psychological in nature and can vary in terms of their causes, influences, triggers, and potential resolutions. Accurate assessment of these and other variables is dependent on the practitioner’s capability and can change or evolve as the practitioner acquires greater experience, knowledge, and insight.” – Wikipedia
“During psychotherapy, you learn about your condition and your moods, feelings, thoughts and behaviors. Psychotherapy helps you learn how to take control of your life and respond to challenging situations with healthy coping skills.” – Mayo Clinic
